Future For Dental Assistants Sparkles As Seattle Jobs Increase
(ContentDesk) November 3, 2004 -- With employment for Dental Assistants increasing, Pima Medical Institute, 1627 Eastlake Avenue East in Seattle has announced it is currently enrolling students for its next Dental Assistant program scheduled to begin Nov. 22 from 8 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday. According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment for Dental Assistants is expected to grow much faster than the average for all occupations through 2012. Job openings will continue to rise to replace others who transfer to other occupations, retire or leave the labor force for other reasons.

Population growth and greater retention of natural teeth by middle age and older people will continue to fuel demand for dental services.     The curriculum includes: Master Student; Dental Office Administration; Dental Anatomy and Physiology; Dental Pharmacology & Surgical Asepsis; Preventative Dentistry; Chairside Assisting Theory; Chairside Assisting Lab; Roentgenology; Roentgenology Assessment Lab, CPR and an Externship in a dentist's office or other appropriate dental

facility.      "A career as a Dental Assistant has many advantages," said Susan Dow, campus director for the Seattle career college. "The training period is only 30 weeks for day classes, working conditions are great, and the number of job openings continue to expand. This program is a perfect example of what we mean when we say, a few months at PMI can change your life."     PMI is one of the premier medical career colleges in the western United States. The privately owned, nationally accredited school provides students with a well-rounded education embracing theoretical classroom studies, as well as on-site training at medical facilities that mirror the working environment they will pursue after graduation.     PMI has been education students since 1972, with campuses in: Albuquerque, New Mexico; Chula Vista, CA; Mesa and Tucson, AZ; Denver and Colorado Springs, CO; Las Vegas, NV and in Seattle and Renton, WA.
