Helpful Tips For Those That Need An Affordable Dental Plan By Joe Stewart Do you need a hand finding an affordable dental plan? Don't feel alone. It seems as though most dental insurance plans don't have much sufficient coverage, even after their so called "waiting periods." In other words, "no pre-existing conditions". Also, I can't get anything paid for that I'm currently having trouble with. Sorry, Charlie
I'm tempted to cancel it because it doesn't pay for nearly as much as I'm paying in premiums. They said that if I'd bought it in the first place, I wouldn't be having to wait now. At least I'll be covered later. Interesting. Let me do some quick math here. The average cost of dental insurance is around fifty dollars a month for an individual and one hundred for a family. That's too much money, especially for as little as they pay.
Example, I need to have a tooth extraction. Let me make sure that I understand...You're going to charge me six hundred dollars, but I can't have my tooth fixed for twelve months? Oh, by the way. What do you mean I'm still not 100% covered after a full year? I still have to pay a twenty percent deductable before I could be seen. Gee, I'm happy.
So is there really such a thing as an affordable dental plan? Maybe, but I'm going to let you be the judge.Possibly, take a look for yourself.
There is another option available, other than dental insurance, called dental discount plans. I've heard so much about them that I thought I'd see what all of the fuss was about, I found this out.
Discount dental plans are cost effective. Many of these plans are under $150.00 annually for the entire family and less for an individual.
"Discount Plans" are exactly what they say they are, a discount plan, not insurance.
Discount dental plans work like this.
Sign up for the discount plan. After signing up you can visit a participating dentist usually within two days. These dentists are just like any others. Actually, you may have seen them in the past.
You save money with these plans by paying for your procedure at the time of your appointment. There are no age limits, billing problems or exclusions of any kind. Dentists find that it's a good deal because they get paid cash on the spot instead of having to pay their accountant to bill the insurance company for their money and wait up to 45 days for payment.
Also, a network of several thousand dentists means buying power! They can save on important equipment needed for their practice.
Well, that wraps it up. What's your opinion of these discount dental plans? You be the judge.
